New Delhi:EROS TIMES: Punjab Chief Minister Capt. Amrinder Singh, participating in a road show for Congress candidate for the Kalkaji Assembly constituency Adv. Shivani Chopra, asked the voters of Kalkaji to vote for the young Shivani Chopra. Capt. Amrinder Singh said that Shivani Chopra is not only young and dynamic, but is also the daughter of three-time MLA from the constituency Subhash Chopra, and knows the area well.
Captain Amrinder Singh received warm reception from the people all along the road show route.
The road show began from E1, Kalkaji, Dashmesh Chowk, which passed through L Block Gurdwara where a touching welcome awaited Captain Amrinder Singh, Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Subhash Chopra and Shivani Chopra.
The road show passed through M 64, Ravi Das Marg, Gali No 13 and concluded at Maharshi Valmiki Chowk.
Thousands of local people also joined the road show to make it a vibrating event.
The election campaign in Kalkaji has swung totally in favour of Advocate Shivani Chopra as she is not only the daughter of the area, but knows every nook and corner of her constituency. Shivani Chopra said this election was being contested on the basis of performance vs non-performance as whatever development that witnessed in Kalkaji took place during the 15-year Congress regime when, at the initiative of area MLA Subhash Chopra, in-situ construction of flats to locate the JJ clusters began.
She said that 3000 flats have been constructed under the scheme, but due to the failures of the AAP Government in Delhi and the BJP at the Centre and in the MCDs, these flats have not yet been allotted to the jhuggi dwellers.
She said that her first priority would be to ensure that the stalled development works in the area restarted without wasting any more time.
