Manish Sisodia visits schools of North East Delhi, boosts morale of students appearing in Board Exams

New Delhi:EROS TIMES:  Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia interacted with students of Delhi Govt. schools situated in the violence affected areas of North East Delhi.
Manish Sisodia visited SKV Jaffarabad, SKV Gokalpur Village and GGSSS, B 2, Yamuna Vihar.

He asked the students how they were doing and gave them confidence to not be affected by the violence around and rather focus on their studies. “Study hard, give your best at the exams. Let them spread hatred, we will answer them back by doing well at the exams, and building a strong career for ourselves”

The Directorate of Education, Govt. of NCT of Delhi organised special parent teacher meeting at Delhi Govt. schools of violence affected areas of North East Delhi. With the motive to restore confidence in the school kids and to encourage their families to resume sending them to schools is why the PTMs were organised.

“The gist is that we have to get our lives back on track , and for that it is very essential that we do away with the hatred within us and start spreading love once again.
It is time to move on from the nightmares of rampant violence spread on the streets to focusing on our dreams now.
The need of this PTM is to help us revive the dreams that our children along with their parents have seen towards building a strong career for themselves.
I am really happy to see the huge turnout of parents along with their wards here at the PTM today.” said Dy CM Manish Sisodia

“The Board examinations are going on with students assigned to their respective exam centres.
Since classes are not taking place, there is no interaction of the students with their teachers. With the violence that took place in these areas, children are living with fear.
That is why holding a PTM was very important as it has given a chance for the students to interact with their teachers and seek their help in putting their fears to rest,” said Manish Sisodia.

Dy CM Manish Sisodia also asked the students how did their first paper go and if they still had any fears in stepping out of their homes to sit for the exams.
The students were quite happy with their paper and said that they felt relaxed after speaking to the Dy CM.

The PTMs have been organised to also re-instill the confidence and faith in the students of classes X and XII who are appearing CBSE Board examinations.
Many families have been affected by the violence in the north eastern parts of Delhi, because of which Board examinations scheduled to be conducted from 26th to 29th February were postponed.
Some students from violence hit areas have given their examinations a miss. But they will get another opportunity to take exam at a later date.

In the PTM, students and their parents were also explained that in case they missed the CBSE board exam being conducted till 7th March, they will be able to appear for their Boards later.
For new dates, they can contact their schools after 7th March. The Hos were directed to maintain records of all the students who missed their examinations and share the list with CBSE.
The DOE also asked the Hos to provide books/stationery and school uniforms to students residing in violence affected areas of district North-East Delhi.

DOE also informed the parents and students about the new schedule of Common Annual School Examination (Home Examination) which was also postponed till March 7, 2020 in North East and adjoining areas.

Interacting with students, the Dy CM also spoke with them about Coronavirus and advised them to regularly wash their hands- “Exams are going on for the students right now. We are planning to spread awareness about Coronavirus in our schools.”
