Eros TimesDelhi:EROS TIMES: Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia addressed the audience at the launch of the 51st kitchen by Akshaya Patra Foundation in Delhi here on Tuesday, “In our efforts to encourage more students to attend school and our serious commitment towards providing best quality meals to the students, we are collaborating with the Akshaya Patra Foundation by launching this kitchen. It is five minutes walking distance from the school, which is also Akshaya Patra’s 51st kitchen in this country.”
“Arvind kejriwal, our Hon’ble CM of Delhi , flew to Bangalore to inspect the quality of food services provided by Akshaya Patra Foundation and, after being satisfied by the food standards, invited them to come over to Delhi to provide meals for our students of Delhi government schools.
The goal is to provide best quality food to our children, and today we have achieved that goal by collaborating with Akshaya Patra Foundation,” he added.
Talking about the noble purpose with which meals are cooked by the Foundation, Manish Sisodia said,
“The quality of food is important, but the intent of cooking and feeding is also important. When we cook food (like our mothers at home) with love and affection, it gets transferred to the food,and the food will be delicious.
Likewise, Akshaya Patra Foundation thinks that serving food is a noble goal, and they have come a long way from starting with a few children to now serving meals to lakhs of them all across the country.”
The Deputy CM of Delhi also spoke about the need to meet minimum food quality standards and its importance. “How can we think about the progress of this country if the quality of food that we serve to children is stale and not up to the mark?
Food is a basic essential and good quality food is a must.
He praised the efforts of the founders of the Akshaya Patra Foundation and went on to congratulate them for devoting their time and money for such a noble cause.
Chanchalapathi Dasa-(vice chairman , the Akshaya Patra foundation) left his engineering career to do something for the country, for the children of this country. Today he has succeeded in providing excellent meals to lakhs of students all over India. We think about earning well after passing out from college, we have great ambitions, but here’s a noble thought that Chanchalapathi Dasa and Mandhu Pandit Dasa (Chairman, the Akshaya Patra Foundation) believed in. They devoted their lives for the greater good, towards bringing a positive change in our country. We should applaud and respect the founding members and the great minds behind the success of Akshaya Patra Foundation.”
The Akshaya Patra Foundation (TAPF) is a public, charitable, secular Trust, registered in Bengaluru. The Board of Trustees comprise missionaries of ISKCON Bengaluru, corporate professionals, and entrepreneurs.
