“When I came to this school almost two years ago, I marked the dilapidated condition of the building and had resolved to get it reconstructed for the children.
I know that the past year had been challenging for the students and the staff along with the HOS, as the school building was getting reconstructed.
Just as we face discomfort and try to adjust as some parts of our own houses undergo renovation, it was the same case here, “ said Manish Sisodia
Praising the staff and students who patiently adjusted while the building was reconstructed, he said:
“Our patience has reaped fruits today. In the absence of proper toilets and other amenities, it was nothing less than a harrowing experience for our teachers and students to stay in school for long hours. So, we decided to rebuild the school with well-furnished toilets and washrooms.
Our aim was to reconstruct this building in such a way that we wouldn’t be in need of another renovation for at least next 20 years. I am very happy to gift this building to the students and staff of the school,” the Education Minister of Delhi added.

“Now we have to make a school out of this building. A building can only be transformed into a school by its teachers and its students. With a well-furnished building, we also need quality education to be imparted here, then only our purpose will be served.
It is a brand new building today, 5-10 years down the line, the colors of the walls will turn dull, and the only way to maintain the shine of this school is by delivering brilliant students.
Bright students will keep up the name of this school.
Whatever career they take up, become a doctor, engineer or a politician, wherever they go, they are going to make their school proud by their work and intellect,” said Manish Sisodia.
“A well-equipped school is important to make us understand the importance of education.
It is a way to boost the morale of the students of our Delhi government schools, to make the experience of learning, well.
A student told me that kids who go to government schools are not the future of our nation, it’s the private school kids.
I was hurt and deeply moved by what he said.
Until and unless, a student going to a government school says proudly that he/she is the future of our nation, we should keep working to bring about development in our schools. This is the dream that we are chasing today.
Today, I can see the smiling faces of the students (going to govt. schools). They can proudly say that they are also the future of our nation,” he added.

Manish Sisodia said, “Those schools who used to record 75-80% as highest percentage recorded, they have gone up to 96% today. Earlier, the environment was such that children going to private schools were touted to build a strong career for themselves. Students of government schools had access to only “kaam-chalau” education. But that scenario has changed now, students of government schools are outperforming private school students today. People are getting their kids enrolled in government schools today with the confidence of carving a great future for them.”

“Government schools are being shut down today, thousands of government schools of Maharashtra and Uttarakhand are being shut down, govt. schools of UP are being privatized citing the reason that the govt. cannot run the school.
Delhi is the only state where new govt. schools are being set up, old schools are being revamped, and parents are taking their kids out of private schools to enroll them in govt. schools.”
He also spoke about the two innovative curricula introduced by the Department of Education – Happiness curriculum and Entrepreneurship Mind set Curriculum. “In the last five years, we improved the infrastructure of our schools, we equipped our schools with excellent teachers and high-tech lab facilities, but the best thing we did was to bring in happiness curriculum and EMC. Because of these curricula, our students are gaining confidence, there overall behavior and concentration levels are now improved, we are working to turn our students into responsible and respectful kids.
A girl student of class 11, put EMC to good use by helping her father in his business. She set up an email account for her father and started coordination with his clients.
