New Delhi: Chief Minister of Delhi, Shri Arvind Kejriwal today exhorted people to come forward and combatDengue-Chikungunya-Malaria & H1N1-(Swine Flu)”in Delhi and to ensure that mosquito breeding is not encouraged in Delhi.The Chief Minister was speaking as chief guest in the mega training programme on “How to protect Delhi from Dengue-Chikungunya-Malaria & H1N1-(Swine Flu)” organized by Directorate of Health Services at Thyagraj Stadium today. Deputy Chief Minister, Shri Manish Sisodia, Health Minister, Shri Satyendar Jain, Transport Minister, Shri Kailash Gahlot, a number of MLAs, Senior officers of Health Department, All DMs/SDMs, Principals of Schools, representatives of RWAs, Youth Groups, Women’s Groups, Market Associations, NGOs and Religious Organization. 8 to 10 minutes films on awareness on prevention of Dengue-Chikungunya-Malaria were also screened at the venue.
Shri Kejriwal assured that if two crore people of Delhi including 26 Lakhs School Children determine to check and discourage mosquito breeding, Delhi will become free from Dengue-Chikungunya-Malaria & H1N1-(Swine Flu)”.
Chief Minister appealed the representatives of RWAs to take a round of their respective area to ensure that the water is not stored. If found stored this water may be poured at the ground. He also urged the children to inspect their homes and surrounding to ensure that the larva of the mosquitoes is not generated due to stored water. By that way these 26 lakhs School boys and girls – little Champions will work as the ambassadors for taking mass awareness against Dengue-Chikungunya-Malaria”.
Shri Kejriwal also appealed the women to ensure that mosquito breeding is not taking place in their homes and surroundings. By doing show be can aware all the citizens to fight against these deadly diseases.
Dy. Chief Minister, Shri Manish Sisodia said that the government will prepare mass awareness campaign to take the message of the government to the all sections of the society through various fora to combat Dengue-Chikungunya-Malaria. He said that to aware the people CDs and DVDs will be given to MLAs, SDMs, RWAs further to avail to the people to make people aware about “How to protect Delhi from Dengue-Chikungunya-Malaria & H1N1-(Swine Flu)”. These CDs, DVDs of the films will also be distributed to all the school principals/ heads of school to screen them during the assembly to encourage the children/students for inspecting their homes and surroundings to stop breeding of mosquitoes.
The Dy. Chief Minister hoped that the school children after getting training and awared about the programme will act as Army of Children which will fight war against Dengue-Chikungunya-Malaria.
He also appealed the Head of Schools and teachers to ensure that they will inspect their school building, its rooms, roofs, parks and surroundings areas to further ensure that there is no mosquitoes breeding.
Shri Sisodia also said that in each District on every Sunday at 11:00 am training programme on “How to protect Delhi from Dengue-Chikungunya-Malaria & H1N1-(Swine Flu)” will be organized for training the RWAs representatives.
Health Minister, Shri Satyendar Jain appealed the people to wash their hands again and again to protect themselves from H1N1- Swine flu.
