The High Commissioner of Australia to India Her Excellency Harinder Sidhu called on the Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister, Manish Sisodia on Thursday, Sep, at the Delhi Secretariat.
The Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister informed the High Commissioner about the World Class Skill Cent res at Delhi and the excellent results achieved in the last three years.
She was also told about the understanding with the Singapore Government on the first Skill Center. The Chief Minister also told her that Delhi was soon going to open 25 more skill centers.
He and Deputy Chief Minister sought an understanding with Australia for the upcoming skill cent res.
The High Commissioner answered in an affirmative and asked a detailed proposal to be sent to be taken further.
The second area of cooperation discussed was that of Incubation centres.
The Chief Minister and the Dy Chief Minister discussed the cooperation & understanding over Incubation centers and the High Commissioner said that similar partnership already exist between institutions in India and Australia and expressed willingness over understanding with Delhi’s incubation center.
The third major area which came up for discussion during the meeting was Research and Development.
The Chief Minister said that R&D is one of the most important aspects and we should look at partnership opportunities in the area also.
The HC said that it could be done and she will get back on the issue and see what can be done.
The Chief Minister said after the meeting, “Look forward to collaboration with Australia especially in the fields of skill, incubation centers and R &D”.
The High Commissioner briefed the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister on the 10-key sectors on which India & Australia could collaborate and partner.
The flagship sector of the 10-key sectors is education.
The High Commissioner also sought to know from the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister their areas of priorities. She was told by the Chief Minister that education and health were the top priorities of the government apart from infrastructure, water management, sewage, road, transport and others.
